TM Juke Biography
Alex Cowan AKA TM Juke has built a reputation as a prolific and acutely talented musician, producer and DJ. His solo projects have drawn inspiration from soul, funk, hip hop, jazz, electro & future sounds; with sublime hooks and a strong spirit of experimentation. As well as enjoying a successful solo career, with two solo albums for Tru Thoughts under his belt, he has also produced and co-written two highly acclaimed albums with UK songstress Alice Russell (he still collaborates and performs with Alice around the world). TM also produces as one half of the dance-floor directed club production duo Me&You, who hit success with their cover of Roni Size's Brown Paper Bag and gained support from DJs across the world with their bootleg releases for Rebtuz. TM juke's latest album was another co-production with drummer Jack Baker (Bonobo, Alice Russell) which sees him delving into the world of the America; exploring rhythms from the deep south to Baltimore, including the full Batucada cover of Mr Vega's Heads Hi! He is working on new albums with all his projects at present.. Namely his new project "Nekklace" which has TM exploring the more electro sides to his nature.
As a DJ TM Juke has spun all over the globe from London to Sydney to San Francisco and home via Moscow. His sets incorporate a huge mixed bag of styles and are guaranteed to get any crow up and bumping!
